The National Association of Patent Practitioners (NAPP) will be holding the 2009 Annual Meeting and Nuts & Bolts Short Course at The Embassy Suites San Diego Bay, in beautiful downtown San Diego, California, from July 18, 2009 to July 21, 2009. I will be heading from the PLI Patent Bar Review Course in Orange County, California, which runs from July 15-19, 2009, to the NAPP conference. I will be presenting on Monday, July 20, 2009, regarding Rule Changes on Practicing before the Patent Office. Other presenters include Louis Foreman of Everyday Edisons and Eventys (presenting on Innovation from the Inventors Perspective), Bill Smith, a former judge on the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences (presenting on Hot Topics at the BPAI), Ron Reardon, who is the President of NAPP and President of the United Inventors Association (presenting on Building a Successful Solo Practice), Paul Lerner, who is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for General Patent Corporation (presenting on the Federal Circuit), and many others.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Meeting space is limited to 50 attendees for the Nuts & Bolts Short Course and 150 attendees for the Annual Meeting. Early registration is strongly encouraged. The early registration cut-off date is June 16, 2009. Registration may be by online, fax, or mail. For online registration visit NAPP Annual Meeting Registration. To register by mail or fax fill out the Annual Meeting Registration Form (see pages 3 and 4). After June 16, 2009, an additional late registration fee of $200.00 will be in effect. On-site registration will be available based on space availability only. Registration will be available Saturday, July 18, 2008 from 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM; Sunday, July 19, 2009 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM; Monday, July 20, 2009 from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; and Tuesday, July 21, 2008 from 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM. Late registration fees will be in effect.
HOTEL INFORMATION
The Embassy Suites is located at 601 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92101-5914. The hotel located directly across the street from Seaport Village, is within walking distance of the Gaslamp Quarter, and is just minutes from the San Diego International Airport (SAN).
Amenities include complimentary cooked to order breakfast served every morning, complimentary cocktails, beverages, and light snacks at the evening Manager’s Reception, business center, in-room microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker.
A block of rooms has been reserved at the discounted rate of $219.00/night single/double occupancy for the nights of July 17th – 20th. This rate does not include applicable state and local taxes. Each meeting attendee is to make his/her own room reservation by calling 1-800-EMBASSY (800-362-2779), and using the group reservation code “NAP”.
CLE CREDIT
Continuing Legal Education Credit has been applied for in Virginia, California, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. Check with your state bar for CLE approval of this program.
Both the Nuts & Bolts program and the Annual Meeting program qualify for NAPP® Certification credit. Nuts & Bolts – 7.0; Annual Meeting – 11.0.
