Housewares Inventors Pitch Your Products to Lifetime Brands

lifetime-brands-10-05-2015Calling all inventors! Lifetime Brands, the largest non-electronics housewares company in the United States, is hosting an Innovation Day on Monday, October 5, 2015, at their corporate headquarters in Garden City, NY. This free event will give housewares inventors the opportunity to pitch their products for the purpose of landing a licensing deal with this industry leader.

Lifetime Brands sells a wide assortment of food preparation utensils, cook and bakeware products, storage containers, table top offerings and more. In fact, Lifetime Brands manufactures and markets over 18,000 products under multiple brand names including Farberware, Kitchen Aid, Cuisinart, Pedrini, Mikasa, Towle and Pfaltzgraff. Each year Lifetime Brands introduces over 4,000 new products each year, which is where you come in. If you have a housewares product Lifetime Brands wants to know about it.

This special, one-day event, is geared towards inventors and product developers who would like to enter into a licensing agreement with an industry leader, or those who simply want to learn how licensing with a larger company actually works. The event is free of charge and will run from 9:00am to 5:00 pm ET.

Warren Tuttle, known to many throughout the industry as the long-time President of the United Inventors Association, will MC this event. Tuttle is Open Innovation Director and focuses on external product development for both Lifetime Brands, as well as Techtronic Industries NA, the nation’s leading producer of power tools.

Tuttle is no stranger to housewares. Tuttle began his career as a department store buyer of cookware and small appliances in New York City (Abraham and Straus of Brooklyn, NY). Prior to becoming the product development and marketing expert he is today, Tuttle previously owned five gourmet specialty kitchenware stores (The Complete Kitchen of Southern CT), a prepared food and catering business (The Good Food Store of Darien, CT), a nationally recognized cooking school and a kitchen design business. Food and Wine magazine once described The Complete Kitchen as “one of the finest gourmet stores in America.”

“We are trying to expose inventors and product developers to Lifetime Brands very special Open Innovation program,” Tuttle explained. ” The event has been in place for almost ten years now and closing in on one hundred licensing agreements. As the largest supplier of housewares and table top products to all of America’s major retailers, including Walmart, Target, Kohl’s and the others, Lifetime Brands heartily welcomes outside product submissions and signs licensing agreements on a regular basis.”

According to Tuttle, even if you do not have a housewares product that is ready for licensing the event will still be of interest. In addition to the product pitch opportunities, there will be educational programs and speakers throughout the day. Lifetime Brands executives will participate in the event, as will special guest speaker Marc Portney of the new hit Science Channel TV Show, All American Makers. “By visiting the stunning showroom and cooperate headquarters, participants will get a better feel for what product arenas Lifetime Brands focuses on and where they are looking for the next big innovation,” Tuttle explained.

Perhaps the cornerstone of the event, inventors will have the opportunity to pitch their products to Liftetime Brands division heads and their teams.
