Kenneth A. Sprang practices in Washington, D.C., where he provides legal and consulting services to businesses and non-profit enterprises in a range of corporate and business matters. Mr. Sprang is an experienced corporate and transactional lawyer with additional specialization in labor, employment, and employee benefits law. Over the course of his career, he has practiced with both large and small firms and served as in house counsel for Fortune 500 companies and as general counsel to smaller companies.

Over the course of his 30 year career, in addition to private law practice, Mr. Sprang has founded legal departments and served as general counsel for several start-up companies, as well as working in the legal departments of Calgon Corporation, a former subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc., and Cyclops Corporation, a specialty steel manufacturer. He has also spent several years as a full-time law professor, and continues teaching as an Adjunct Professor at Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Sprang, in cooperation with his colleagues in France and a network of lawyers in the United States and elsewhere in the world, provides clients counsel and representation in corporate governance; negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts, real estate documents, and other instruments; environmental law; licensing and other intellectual property matters; mergers and acquisitions; litigation; and facilitating federal and state regulatory compliance.

Mr. Sprang also brings to his clients special expertise in labor and employment law. In addition to representing clients in all aspects of U.S. labor and employment law (including specific state laws), he has served on the senior staff of the Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board and taught the subject for many years. He is the author or co-author of several books and articles on labor and employment law and alternative dispute resolution.

Illustrative clients include a software development company, a manufacturer of isostatic presses, an interactive advertising company, and a solar power developer, as well as several international non profit organizations. He has also consulted with clients like Deutsche Bank to explain current American legal developments. In addition, Mr. Sprang is a member of the Board of Directors of Kidsave International and volunteers as an “operations consultant” to Kidsave’s DC office.

Mr. Sprang received his baccalaureate degree from the Ohio State University and his master’s degree from the University of Michigan. He earned his law degree with honors at Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
