Slingshots have been used for many years, and normally the user wraps
a pouch around a projectile, pulls back on the elastic members
connected to the arms of forked member and then releases. After the
release the slingshot user is usually hoping for the best. It would
seem that slingshots are hard to aim; sufficiently hard to aim that
there is a need in the industry to have a laser aiming tool attached
to the projectile pouch. Although the patent does not mention it,
this pull and hope method of aiming seems especially problematic if
you only have one shot and cannot reload and re-aim. By the time
appropriate aim is worked out whatever it is that the user was
shooting at has likely gotten wise and moved out of range. Squirrels
and birds everywhere will undoubtedly be distressed to learn that
this light projecting slingshot aiming apparatus has hit the market.
