Monty Wright

Vice President, IP Assets, GE Ventures Licensing

Monty Wright is Vice President, IP Assets for General Electric’s GE Ventures Licensing business. In this role, he is responsible for the inception of new patent licensing programs, patent valuation and analytic support of assertion, technology transfer and acquisition opportunities. Wright has been recognized by IAM Magazine as one of the top 300 IP strategists in the world.

Before joining GE, Wright was the founding manager of the Eastman Kodak Intellectual Property Strategy Office, and then a private IP consultancy practice for Fortune 500 companies. Before his intellectual asset management assignment at Kodak, he held a variety of R&D and management roles, including managing research programs for the consumer imaging business. He also has leadership experience from the US Army.

Wright holds an MS in information systems management from the University of Southern California and a PhD in computational chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
