Russell Binns

Russ Binns has over twenty years of experience in intellectual property. Russ is currently CEO and General Counsel for AST (Allied Security Trust). Immediately prior to taking this position he was the Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for Avaya Inc. responsible for all aspects of Avaya’s worldwide intellectual property operations, including licensing, litigation, and patent procurement.

Before Avaya, Russ was an intellectual property litigator and licensing attorney for Goodwin Procter LLP, and Weingarten, Schurgin, Gagnebin & Hayes, LLP. He also served as a Board member for the Intellectual Property Owners Association.

Mr. Binns received his J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law’s Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property, and his bachelor of science in electrical and computer engineering from Clarkson University.
