43rd Annual Inventors Hall of Fame Ceremony Honors Champions of Innovation

On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, Gene and I attended the National Hall of Fame 43rd Annual Induction Ceremony at the Smithsonian’s American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery, in Washington DC. This year the ceremony included the induction of 14 different Inventor’s whose life-changing achievements have benefited humanity through their groundbreaking work. Master of Ceremonies for the event was CBS Sunday Morning correspondent and Host of the Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation, Mo Rocca.

2015 Innovation Festival Calls for Exhibitor Applications

The 2015 Innovation Festival will be held on September 26th & 27th and will explore how today’s inventors are creating the world of our future. In preparation for the event, the USPTO and the Smithsonian are now accepting applications of inventors interested in exhibiting their inventions at this year’s event.

Smithsonian Will Host Innovation Festival at National Air and Space Museum

The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum will host an Innovation Festival Nov. 1 and 2, a collaboration between the Smithsonian and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The festival will highlight accomplishments of American inventors and the spirit of innovation. It will feature displays, talks, performances and craft projects for children and adults.

USPTO, Smithsonian Collaborate to Open “Innovation Pavilion”

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Smithsonian Institution have signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the USPTO to support the Smithsonian’s development of an “Innovation Pavilion” that will showcase educational programs and exhibitions about American innovation. The pavilion will be housed at the Arts and Industries (A&I) Building in Washington, DC, after the historic building’s re-opening in 2014. It will serve as a forum for public discussions, symposiums, workshops, and recognition ceremonies related to American innovation, highlighting the vital role patents play in supporting that innovation. Also, the USPTO and the Smithsonian will partner in hosting an Innovation Expo on June 20-22, 2013, at the USPTO headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.

IPO to Award National Inventor of the Year to Kinect Inventor

On Monday, December 10, 2012, Intellectual Property Owners Education Foundation will honor 39th Annual National Inventor of the Year Alex Kipman, 2012 Distinguished IP Professional Judge James Holderman, and the six winners of the Second Annual IP Video Contest, in a ceremony at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery.
