IPWatchdog to publish Troutman Sanders Federal Circuit Review

Troutman-Sanders-SquareThere is an old saying about learning more and more about less and less until you know everything about nothing. I don’t claim to know everything, even about nothing, but over the years my writing has increasingly focused on patent legislation, patent rulemaking, innovation policy and the politics and business of patents and innovation.

When I initially launched IPWatchdog.com back in 1999 my focus was reporting decisions from all federal courts, with primary emphasis on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. While I do still offer comment on major Federal Circuit cases, increasingly my focus has been on other issues. We have been fortunate to have guest contributors from time to time write about a variety of Federal Circuit cases, but it has been some time since we have really focused on reporting Federal Circuit decisions in any broad way.

With this in mind I recently approached Troutman Sanders. Troutman Sanders is an international law firm with more than 600 lawyers practicing in 16 offices located throughout the United States and Asia. Partners Joe Robinson and Bob Schaffer have for some time published a Federal Circuit Review Newsletter. I have been a subscriber since they started publishing that newsletter just over a year ago.

I pitched Joe and Bob with the idea of publishing their weekly newsletter on IPWatchdog.com. They liked the idea. Thus, I am pleased to announce that beginning Friday, June 26, 2015, IPWatchdog.com will publish the Troutman Sanders newsletter each Friday. I think you will agree that this newsletter provides an excellent summary of Federal Circuit decisions from the previous week. By doing this I hope to help readers stay informed about the latest Federal Circuit decisions in a timely manner.

Please join me in welcoming Joe and Bob!
