WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (May 2016) – Growing Intellectual property law firm Leason Ellis has announced the addition of Adda Gogoris and Michael Davitz as Partners.

Gogoris and Davitz are well-known biotech and pharmaceutical patent attorneys. Their addition to Leason Ellis helps to solidify the firm as a powerhouse among biotech and pharmaceutical patent practices in New York and beyond. Also joining them are Patent Agent Jia Li and Scientific Advisor Svetlana Pavlovic.

Gogoris, who most recently served as Partner at Ascenda Law Group in New York, brings more than 35 years of experience in intellectual property practice serving the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical industries. Selected as a “Top Rated Lawyer” by American Lawyer Media and Martindale-Hubbell, and repeatedly included in New York Super Lawyers, she also co-chairs the Patent Boot Camp, an annual three-day seminar and clinic for Practicing Law Institute.

Gogoris earned her undergraduate degree and law degree from Cornell University.  She is admitted to the bar in New York and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Michael Davitz

Michael Davitz

Davitz, also previously a Partner at Ascenda Law Group, is both a physician-scientist and an attorney.  Prior to law school, he was an assistant professor of pathology and environmental medicine at New York University School of Medicine, where he was a Lucille P. Markey Scholar in the Biomedical Sciences.  Davitz has also worked in-house at Taro Pharmaceuticals, a multinational pharmaceutical company, where he served as head of intellectual property and as a partner at Axinn in New York.

Davitz is a graduate of Yale University, the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University, and New York University School of Law.  He has been admitted to the bar in New York, the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.

Jia Li

Jia Li

Li is a Patent Agent who obtained her Ph.D. in pharmacology from Yale University.  She was also a Postdoctoral Fellow at Rockefeller University, where she was the recipient of the Anna Fuller Cancer Fund graduate fellowship and the National Cancer Center postdoctoral fellowship.

Svetlana Pavlovic

Svetlana Pavlovic

Pavlovic is a Scientific Advisor who obtained her Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry in a joint program between Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is also currently a law student in the evening program at Fordham University School of Law, where she expects to graduate in 2018.

Li and Pavlovic bring to four the number of Ph.D.s at Leason Ellis, joining attorneys Susie Cheng and Amy Gallup Klann.
