We move at a fast pace and seek only one result, and that is to win. We are one of the fastest growing law firms in the United States. We are listed on the Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing companies in the Unites States. In the Spring of 2021, we are opening our first international office in London. Caldwell is one of the most nimble and effective IP boutiques in the world.

Caldwell has developed a reputation for always delivering a return on investment for our clients. We strive for excellence. Our excellence is demonstrated in part by our 98.6% rate of allowance for patent applications before the USPTO.

Duties To Include:

Now, we are looking for the right person to begin and lead a litigation practice here. Our clients have reached the stage that they are both targets of patent infringement actions and are looking to monetize their portfolios themselves, and we need an attorney to manage this. Location and years of experience are of secondary importance in our search.

The key qualifications are (1) can you help a client win – in patent litigation, IPRs, etc.; and (2) will you, no matter what? The ideal candidate will also be able to build a practice with our support, eventually developing a book of business of his or her own and providing meaningful input on firm governance, including hiring.

The following requirements are the traditional qualifications that most law firms require for an IP Litigation Attorney position. These requirements are expected; however the key qualification is a leader who truly understands how to win.

Qualifications Required:

  • 6+ years IP litigation experience (First Chair not necessary)
  • Experience in U.S. District Courts, U.S. International Trade Commission, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (post-grant proceedings), including participating in underlying case analyses; conducting factual and legal research; drafting pleadings; participating in discovery on infringement, validity, and damages issues, including depositions and expert discovery; researching and drafting dispositive and discovery motions and claim construction briefing; and participating in pre-trial and trial activities
  • Registered to practice before the USPTO preferred
