Apply to Speak or Sponsor: IPWatchdog is Accepting Proposals for SEP2020

As COVID-19 reaches into its sixth month in the United States, life has changed dramatically. Due to the pandemic, our live CON2020 has been canceled and we have pivoted to present the panel discussions in a sponsor-supported free online series that will roll out throughout the month of September. We are pleased to announce that Andrei Iancu, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, will give the opening keynote presentation on September 1 at 12pm ET. Registration is open.

SEP2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has also forced the decision to cancel our live SEP2020 program, which was to take place in Arlington, Virginia. Instead, we will once again pivot and present the panel discussions in a free online series.

SEP2020 will be made up of a free online series of panels over three days: November 3, 10 & 17. These sponsor-supported panels are free to attend, and registration is open.

We are well underway with plans for SEP2020, but we are looking for additional speakers. In order to cast our net wide, and to seek any and all good ideas, we have an open call for Panel Proposals and Speakers. We are looking for topics relating to standard essential patents (SEPs), fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND) terms and the intersection of 5G technologies. If you would like to submit a topic for consideration, or if you would like to apply to speak, please submit this form by September 18, 2020.

Apply Early

Selection will be on a rolling basis. Some panels are already in the planning stages, although the agenda has not been announced. Therefore, getting proposals and statements of interest in early will help to ensure the fullest consideration. There is no guarantee that panels or speaking positions will remain open until September 18. All panels and speakers will be notified no later than October 1, 2020.
