Tulip Mahaseth is registered to practice patent prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Dr. Mahaseth earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2018). Prior to law school, she received her Ph.D. (2015) and M.S. (2012) in Microbiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Mahaseth received her Master of Science (2010) in Biological Sciences from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani with First Division honors. During law school, Dr. Mahaseth was an Invention Associate for Northwestern University’s Innovation and New Ventures Office, where she assisted in formulating patent prosecution strategies for medical devices and methods of treatments, responding to office actions, conducting patent landscape analysis, licensing, and commercialization of University-generated intellectual property. Dr. Mahaseth was also a Summer Associate at Foley & Lardner LLP’s Silicon Valley office, where she prepared responses to office actions and freedom to operate opinions for small and large molecule compounds and methods of treatments and assisted with FDA regulatory matters and expert declarations. Dr. Mahaseth will be joining Foley’s Chemical, Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Practice as an Associate in October 2018. Dr. Mahaseth is not yet admitted to practice law in any state.
