IPW Webinar – How Classification Works at the USPTO and the Impact on Prosecution Outcomes

May 14, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

Webinar June 11

We all know that some art units are more difficult than others, so just knowing which art unit your application will be assigned to can give you better insight. In-depth art unit insight including knowing your chances of ending up with a fast, medium or slow examiner in that art unit.  Knowing the likelihood of if, and when, your patent application will be granted. But perhaps even more importantly, knowing why  your application was assigned to that art unit, allows you to potentially redraft your application to increase your chances of being assigned to a different art unit.

The art unit to which an application is assigned can have a significant impact on the prosecution impact – for better or worse.

Join Gene Quinn, President & CEO of IPWatchdog, Inc. founder and twice named one of the global Top 50 Most Influential People in IP, for a live discussion with classification experts for the USPTO to understand how, and why, applications are assigned to certain art units and the changes you can make to  positively influence the path of your patent application.  Joining Gene will be Megan McLoughlin, Director of Product Management at LexisNexis IP, Tonya Heyboer, Knowledge and Training Manager at Serco IP Services and Jeffrey Sullivan, Team Leader at Serco IP Services.

This webinar is part of the IPWatchdog Weekly Webinar Series.
