Chris George is a shareholder in the Chicago law firm of Hanley, Flight & Zimmerman, focusing on strategic identification, capture, and evaluation of intellectual property. He has extensive experience with patent procurement & enforcement in technologies including imaging systems, telecommunications, acoustics, blood collection, gaming systems, networks, medical devices, manufacturing processes & materials, computers, software, Internet technologies & business/financial methods. He also has expertise in patent portfolio management, due diligence & opinion work.

Chris provides comprehensive services in all areas of intellectual property law and represents a wide range of clients- helping startup companies protect their innovations, helping universities harness the IP value of their research & working with both small businesses and large international corporations, even serving as seconded in-house counsel for one of his long-time corporate clients. He also serves as seconded in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 client to advise them on patent strategy matters, and is a frequent speaker and contributor on patent issues.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. George worked in the field of computer architecture and is an inventor on a patent related to runtime software optimization.
