Dr. Douglas Frank is a Senior Consultant for Brattle.  He is an expert in the economic analysis of intellectual property, competition, firm strategy, and governance matters. He has consulted for numerous organizations around the world in the areas of strategy, governance, and organization design.

Among his litigation experience, Dr. Frank’s work has spanned the agriculture, automotive, biotechnology, chemical, health insurance, information technology, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries. In intellectual property work, he has estimated damages from patent infringement, copyright infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, and breach of contract. He has also assessed the effects of corporate actions and proposed misconduct remedies on competition, analyzed economic factors associated with motions for injunctive relief, evaluated commercial success, and assessed the reasonableness of charges and payments in commercial disputes.

Dr. Frank’s research has been published in leading academic journals, including Industrial RelationsManagement ScienceOrganizational Behavior and Human Decision ProcessesOrganization Science, and the Strategic Management Journal. As an Assistant Professor of Strategy at INSEAD, Dr. Frank was twice recognized as the Outstanding Teacher of Elective Courses in the MBA program. He continues to teach strategy in INSEAD’s executive programs. Before joining The Brattle Group, he was a vice president at an international economic consultancy, and held various management positions at Bayer AG in the US and Germany. A dual US and French citizen, Dr. Frank is fluent in French and German.
