Erica Helgerson is a Senior Manager of Intellectual Property at pSemi Corporation, a Murata Company, where she manages patent prosecution and oversees a patent portfolio of over 1000 assets. A founding member of the IP department, she created a comprehensive internal patent system including strategy and management, quality and financial metrics, value analysis, and national and international filing strategies. She manages all external counsel, the IP budget, the extraction and disclosure process, claim review and strengthening, patent committees and sponsors, and inventor training. In the last 5 years, her department has identified, extracted, and reviewed over 500 inventions at a committee level, more than quadrupling the patent assets. The portfolio has been recognized as a ‘top 10’ of the semiconductor industry by IEEE. Prior to her IP career, she was a circuit designer of RF switches.
Erica has a M.S. in Electrical Engineering (circuit-design focus), a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and a B.A. in Piano Performance from University of California, San Diego. She is a registered patent agent with the USPTO.
Erica lives in San Diego, California with her husband and daughter.
