George Pappas

George Pappas is Senior Intellectual Property Counsel for Volvo Cars, and a former Vice President at Qualcomm. He is a patent expert with over 25 years of technical and legal experience versed in all areas of IP law.

Mr. Pappas has extensive knowledge and expertise in Software Engineering, Multimedia, and Wireless Communications and digital signal processing : 3G, 4G, CDMA, OFDM, MIMO, UWB, UMTS, WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+, LTE, LTE Advanced, WiMAX, WiFi, 802.11, embedded software and hardware, cryptography, and computer architectures – RISC, CISC, VLIW, SIMD, MIMD, ARM, MIPS, HDL, RTL, SoC, VLSI.

Mr. Pappas is also a former USPTO patent examiner responsible for examination and grant of patents in the electrical arts, and a graduate of the Stanford University program on Executive Leadership. An experienced educator with substantial experience in the training of patent experts.

Mr. Pappas is to practice in the United States, Greece, England and Wales and qualified/registered to practice before the USPTO, EPO, and WIPO, and also as a trademark attorney before EUIPO.
