Luke McLeroy, licensing director at Ericsson, is responsible for it’s North American patent licensing activities. He has helped to develop Ericsson’s patent portfolio, which includes approximately 37,000 patents and the largest collection of standard-essential patents for mobile communications. Mr McLeroy is heavily involved in licensing Ericsson’s patent portfolio, as the company has more than 100 patent licence agreements in place. He has also participated in the European Telecommunications Standards Institute IP Rights Special Committee and the International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardisation Bureau director’s Ad Hoc Group on IP Rights on behalf of Ericsson.
Before joining Ericsson, Mr McLeroy was an associate and principal at McKool Smith, where he represented both plaintiffs and defendants in commercial and patent infringement litigation, including lawsuits before the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the US International Trade Commission.
He has a BS in mechanical engineering and a JD.
