Paul Lewis

Paul Lewis is a partner with Birch Stewart Kolasch & Birch. His intellectual property practice focuses on domestic and foreign patent prosecution, including preparing and filing of new patent applications and amendments, interviews with examiners, appeal briefs and oral hearings. Mr. Lewis also has experience in the preparation of infringement and validity opinions and with design patents. Mr. Lewis specializes in the areas of mechanical and electro-mechanical patents. His areas of expertise include telecommunications, data management systems, imaging technology, AC/DC converters, high voltage transformers, power electronics, medical devices, centrifugal separators and sports equipment. Mr. Lewis was a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has practiced in the intellectual property field since 1990. He is a frequent lecturer for the firm seminar series and regularly conducts workshops for clients internationally, including the Swedish Patent Office and the Norwegian Patent Office. He represents large and small business and companies in the United States and abroad.
