Stuart Raynor

Stuart is a partner based in our London office. He handles work across a wide variety of chemical subject matter, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and process chemistry. Stuart has a particular focus on polymers and catalysis. His technical knowledge in these areas is extensive and is supported by a year of postdoctoral research at the Royal Institution investigating ferrocenyl complexes heterogenised to materials such as MCM-41.

Stuart has extensive experience of opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office. He attends numerous hearings each year, acting on behalf of both the patentee and opponent, and frequently handles complex multi-party proceedings.

A significant proportion of Stuart’s work involves the prosecution of patent applications before the European Patent Office. He has a particular interest in cases which involve parameters where issues concerning clarity and sufficiency often need to be considered. Much of his prosecution work is for applicant companies based in Japan and Korea. Stuart regularly visits both countries.

Stuart joined J A Kemp in 2000 and became a partner in 2010.
