William Morriss

William Morriss is an experienced intellectual property attorney whose practice focuses on patent law and software implemented inventions. He is a member at Frost Brown Todd, LLC, where he has represented inventors seeking to obtain protection for software implemented inventions before the United States Patent and Trademark Office; has represented businesses and individuals in patent infringement litigation, both in defending against allegations of infringement, and in enforcing patents against accused infringers, and has assisted clients in business transactions which include software, both in negotiating and drafting contracts, and in performing due diligence review of agreements in the context of potential acquisitions. He has presented at conferences and CLE events nationally, speaking and writing on such topics as IP law and open source licensing for programmers, block chain opportunities, threats and risk management, and the history of software patenting.

Mr. Morriss is cofounder and Senior Technology Advisor for IP Toolworks, LLC, and host of the IP-focused YouTube series, IANYA Chat.
