Anton N. Handal joins Greenspoon Marder as a shareholder in the Intellectual Property practice. Knobbe Martens to open office in New York City

Nominations Sought for National Medal of Technology and Innovation

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is seeking nominations for the 2017 National Medal of Technology and Innovation. The medal is presented each year by the President of the United States and is this country’s highest award for technological achievement. The deadline for nominations is April 7, 2017.

European Patent Office grants more patents to US companies than ever before

The number of patents granted to US companies by the European Patent Office (EPO) grew by 46.7% in 2016, the highest increase in ten years, and a new record high. Last year US companies were granted 21,939 patents by the EPO (2015: 14,955).
